Handling Rejected Materials at Korrex Sealing Solutions, we prioritise managing rejected materials efficiently to uphold our rigorous quality standards. Our robust process is divided into three key stages: the raw material stage, the manufacturing stage, and the finished product stage. This multi-step approach ensures that we address issues early and effectively, providing our customers with products of the highest standard.
1. Raw Material Stage: Ensuring Quality from the Start
Dimension and Visual Inspection
Upon receipt of raw materials, we conduct thorough checks to verify dimensions, including length, width, and thickness. In addition to these physical measurements, we also perform a detailed visual inspection to ensure the material is free from defects, such as coating inconsistencies.
Handling Raw Material Rejection
In the event that we identify issues, such as incorrect dimensions or visible defects, we promptly notify the supplier of the problem. The rejected material is then returned to the supplier, and a new roll is immediately ordered to maintain production schedules.
2. Manufacturing Stage: Addressing Production Errors
Potential for Mis-Cutting
During the manufacturing stage, there is a possibility of cutting materials into incorrect dimensions. For example, if a length of 2m x 500mm is incorrectly cut to 1.8m x 500mm, we recognize the error and take corrective measures.
Reuse and Reassignment of Materials
When such dimensional errors occur, we assess whether the fabric can be reused for another order requiring the same size. If the material can’t be repurposed for an immediate order, we store it in our inventory, clearly labeling its size for future use.
3. Finished Product Stage: Final Quality Assurance
Dimensional Deviations
During the final inspection of the finished product, we meticulously check the dimensions of the expansion joints or other tailor-made products. If any deviations from the required specifications are found, we evaluate whether the variation is positive or negative.
Reworking or Scrapping Materials
In the case of dimensional rejections, our team assesses if the material can be reworked or altered to meet the client’s specifications without compromising on quality. If rework is not possible, the material is scrapped promptly to avoid any delays or compromises in delivering the final product.
At Korrex Sealing Solutions, our structured approach to managing rejected materials ensures that every product we deliver meets our exacting quality standards. This commitment allows us to continuously deliver the highest quality products to our clients. If you have any questions or require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
